Prickly Pears are cactus native to the Americas. Cactus are succulents that are drought resistant and store water in their leaves, stems, and roots. I found these blooming cactus in northern Arizona, while walking close to MC Canyon, which is at the edge of the Mogollon Rim, where it overlooks the Verde Valley.
