Red Columbines are native to the Pacific Coast from Alaska to Baja, California.They are found in open mountain meadows, rocky areas, and along streams. They are from the Buttercup family, I saw this one while in Oregon.

They can be found in gravelly soils on slopes or mountain meadows. Pasqueflowers are of the Buttercup family, the Western have five to seven whitish sepals with 150-200 stamens.
