Here is a flower to brighten your winter day! This is a North American aster, the species is called Aster Amelius. They are star shaped lilac wild flowers with dark green leaves, which bloom from July to October. This one was in northern Arizona this past autumn.
Here are a few January winter photos: the San Francisco Peaks, Ponderosa pine trees, and an osprey nest that I saw here in Northern Arizona.

In my region of North America, we get Lazuli Buntings that pass through each year in the summer. It is really the only Bunting we see here in northern Arizona. This is one from my yard back in August. Read more here: LAZULI BUNTING
