Here are some photos from a recent walk in the high desert on the Colorado Plateau. There is so much color out there, it is very impressive! The wildflowers are (clockwise): Tidytip, Potts Prickly Pear, Globemallow, and Phlox.

It was sunny and dry in late spring, as we drove to an open area with scattered pinon pines and Utah junipers, at about six thousand feet in elevation.
