Here are some early autumn wildflowers I saw at the Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve recently. Picture Canyon in Flagstaff is a great place to see birds, bugs, and other wildlife. It has a lush riparian area along the canyon, some amazing Northern Sinagua petroglyphs, and an outdoor education area.
Here are some wildflowers and weeds I saw on a summer morning walk in northern Arizona.
These wildflowers are a few I see in the forest area behind my home. There are many Ponderosa Pines as well as some mountain meadow areas.
I saw this female Rufous Hummingbird flying around Desert Paintbrush flowers, seeking nectar. They are very fast and agile flyers. They are very aggressive hummingbirds that will go after other hummingbirds (even ones larger than them) at flowers and feeders to get to the goods.
