A FLOWER
Here is a flower to brighten your winter day! This is a North American aster, the species is called Aster Amelius. They are star shaped lilac wild flowers with dark green leaves, which bloom from July to October. This one was in northern Arizona this past autumn.
ASTERS IN SUMMER
It is the end of summer, Asters are one of my favorite flowers to see each year. When they arrive in my area in northern Arizona, it is usually towards the end of summer. Here is one of the first I saw in the second half of August. Learn more about them here: ASTERS
SOME WILDFLOWERS
Here are some early autumn wildflowers I saw at the Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve recently. Picture Canyon in Flagstaff is a great place to see birds, bugs, and other wildlife. It has a lush riparian area along the canyon, some amazing Northern Sinagua petroglyphs, and an outdoor education area.
