Tiger Moths have very distinguished leaf patterns. There are many different species of them, in North America there are over 250. The Ornate Tiger Moth is common in much of the far western parts, from British Columbia down to southern California, as well as the Pacific NW, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. They arrive in early summer. The larvae feed on herbaceous plants. This one I saw in northern Arizona.

Awesome! I’ve never seen a tiger moth before. Great job!
