GILA SPOTTED WHIPTAIL

The Gila Spotted Whiptail is a species of long tailed lizard. They are dark with six light stripes and yellowish spots, the tail is olive greenish in color. They can be found in juniper and oak woodlands along streams and in desert grasslands. They feed on mostly termites and ants. I found this one among juniper trees with many ants in the vicinity in northern Arizona.
