NATIONAL CACTUS DAY

Today is National Cactus Day, a day to celebrate the various species of cactus. Here is Arizona, there are over 80 different species of cactus, in both the cooler high elevation and hot lower elevation desert areas. Cactus are plants that are drought-tolerant and store water in their leaves, stems, or roots. This is a Brown Spine Prickly Pear. Happy Cactus Day!
