TAWNY CRESCENT

Tawny Crescents have orange above with wide black borders, mottled black lines, and a pale band in middle of forewing. The hindwing has lighter markings, yellowish. The are found in woodland areas. The eggs are found on asters. The caterpillar is brown with yellow stripes with white patches on the head. They feed on wood asters.
