MARINE BLUE

Marine Blues are found in open and temporary water places, seasonal pond areas, or gardens in southwestern states in the U.S. and south into Mexico. Wings have violet blue color above and fine barring pattern below, the hindwing has distinct iridescent spots. They nectar on mesquite, clover, or mint plants. Host plants are from the Pea family. Here is one in my back yard.
