BACKYARD BIRD

Here is an Oregon Junco in my backyard. They are regular winter visitors to us here in northern Arizona. The Oregon Junco is a sub-species of Dark-eyed Juncos. This one is distinguished by its black head and pink sides on the male and dark gray head on the female. There range is from Alaska and down south to northern Mexico, throughout much of the west and as far east as the Great Plains states.
