Pipevines are Swallowtails found in many southern parts of the United States and into Mexico. The underside of the Pipevine wing is blue with seven large orange spots. The caterpillar feeds mainly on Pipevine leaves, which makes them a poisonous caterpillar and adult. Through the process of evolution, female Tiger Swallowtails and Red Spotted Purple’s (Admiral) will mimic this species for protection against predators. Here is one in Arizona.
