COMMON WHITETAIL SKIMMER

Common Whitetail Skimmers are fairly large dragonflies with unique looking wings, a broad dark band across the middle of the wing, while the rest has a transparent look. Skimmers are dragonflies that have a shorter body than their wingspan. They are day flyers and eat from the nectar of colorful flowers such as asters and cone flowers. They can be found near water areas such as ponds, streams, bays, or ditches.COMMON WHITETAIL SKIMMER
