This Black-Chinned Hummingbird is one of the first hummingbirds I saw this spring in my neighborhood. They have a distinct black throat patch, a black chin, white breast and a long bill. Hummingbirds are amazing, as they are the smallest bird in the world and they hover over plants and feeders to sip nectar. Not only can they fly suspended, they can flutter backwards, sideways, up or down. When hovering, their wings can beat up to 80Â times per second.

Tracy, what a great shot.
