Vermilion Cliffs is up in northern Arizona, in the Arizona Strip area of the State. This area is part of the Colorado Plateau of the four corner states. Vermilion cliffs are made of sandstone, silt stone, limestone, and shale. The formations are thought to be eroded from water and wind over millions of years, exposing many layers of colors in the buttes, mesas, and canyons.VERMILION CLIFFS
