The Arizona Transition zone is literally the transition from the higher elevation Colorado Plateau Province to the north and east, and south to the Basin and Range Province of the lower elevation deserts. The Mogollon Rim and the White Mountains lie along the northern edge of the transition zone. The Black Hills Range and the Bradshaw Mountains lie to the west of the transition zone. It is a very dramatic and picturesque area of the state. Here are a couple of photos.
