Grasshoppers have hind legs that are made for jumping. They eat plant life with their mouth parts that are designed to bite and chew. The Two-Striped Grasshopper has a pair of pale yellow stripes running along the top of its body from above its eyes to the hind tip of its wings. Here is one in my yard on a pumpkin plant.
