Gosh, this chasing away of other birds including hummers is not what is happening here… Although I now have more than my original couple, most of the time these Rufous are willing to share… I do keep two hummingbird feeders up – wonder if that has something to do with it?

Interesting! I have always seen Rufous do this. I have two feeders as well.

We had a rufous in our backyard a couple of days ago. It chased away, not only other hummingbirds, but a male spotted towhee that was in our blackberry bush. They do NOT like other birds around!
