WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY 2018

Since 1993, International Migratory Bird Day has been celebrated the second weekend of May. Its focus in on the importance of bird conservation through laws, agreements, and treaties. The Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 implements the protection of migratory birds between the United States and Canada. This act has common-sense solutions, which have protected birds from hazards such as open oil spills, unprotected pesticide residues, unmarked transmission lines, and lethally situated wind farms.
