MACRO ROCKS

Here are some rocks of the Colorado Plateau. Various and colorful, they formed deep within the earth, the uplift and tilt of the region began 70 million years ago with the largest uplift happening 5.5 million years ago, rising 3,000 feet above the landscape. Thus the area of diverse stones throughout the region. I took these photos with my macro lens in a high desert area in northern Arizona, between Williams and the Grand Canyon.

  1. I love it Tracy. I just went to a museum focused on dinosaurs and wow what an education on the earth, the oceans the plants, the things this planet has been through. That is why I love the west and Arizona so much you can still see all of that just outside your door. Great images.
