The high desert in the southwest never ceases to amaze me. The sky is so vast and its colors are vivid blues, purples, pinks, or oranges. The terrain is unique and various with rolling hills, volcanic rocks, sandstone buttes, arches, cliffs, and canyons. Much of the flora is pinyon and juniper trees, along with cactus, succulents, desert shrubs, wildflowers and many other types of vegetation. Wildlife can include jackrabbits, roadrunners, or pronghorn. Here are a few photos from the high desert in northern Arizona recently.
