There are migratory birds here also, that have not made the escape down south. The flocks of geese here are simply enormous for winter. At most, there are one or two geese here or there, usually staying behind with an injured mate. There are times Robins stay back if the food may be plentiful over the winter. Thanks for sharing your pond walk, it is wonderful to make observations, and the phenological forces and what the wildlife know that perchance the neighbouring humans don’t perceive in the weather patterns.
