The Great-tailed Grackle is a blackbird found in the southwestern parts of North America. They are large blackbirds that are glossy black with yellow eyes and long tail feathers. They can be seen among large flocks in fields, farms, duck ponds, urban parks, and parking lots. They will eat anything including: insects, lizards, small aquatic animals, fish, amphibians, small birds, fruit, grains, or grass. Grackles are very social and make distinct, high, harsh, or even shrill notes, whistles or clucks. I saw this guy at a local park, I just love the angry face.
