I was recently at Russell Lakes is in south and central Colorado. It was an awesome place to see birds, bugs, and beautiful views of the mountains. Here are a few photos I took while in the area.

The snowy egret. This bird is a wader, distinct by their black bill, black legs, yellow eye, and yellow feet. They can be found by many water areas including lakes, ponds, and marshes.

The white-faced ibis. This is another wader bird that has a unique long curved beak. They are usually found in colonies; around lakes, marshes, or even flooded fields. They like to nest in reeds.
