Monsoon refers to a season, but generally does not use the word season. “The monsoon” or “monsoons”, are a summer thunderstorm season of high temperatures, strong winds, and a lot of moisture, resulting in either dust or thunder & lightning storms. They are caused by the warm summer air creating surface low pressure zones that draw moisture from the oceans, which brings atmospheric circulation and precipitation. These two types of storms can range from mild to violent. Here are a few shots from before, during, and after a thunder & lightning storm in the late afternoon into dusk.
