At the trail head early in the morning, the sun is almost silhouetting the mountain range. There is a different feeling about a mountain. Seeing the peak makes me feel eager to begin the trek and leave daily burdens behind. I want to slow down my racing brain, to be able to connect with myself once again. The trail begins with an open meadow full of wildflowers, walk past this to get into the forest. While getting this exercise, obligations slowly go away. The trees, rocks, sky, and flowers all become more fascinating with each move forward. Patience comes back as a gorgeous view comes around the next bend and the next and the next. Keep going until my mind appreciates everything once again and becomes humbled by the natural existences that are stimulating, yet peaceful.
