HIKING IN FEBRUARY

After many days of warm temperatures, I was able to see parts of a trail that I frequent throughout much of the year. It was a nice hike through the woods into some mountain terrain and open fields. A wonderful reprieve from winter, as it is definitely not over. It was a calm early morning walk, the birds were singing like crazy, I was hearing some northern flickers, mountain chickadees, juncos, and Stellar’s jays, also came across this American robin soaking in some sun on a snag. I just love watching the sun come over the horizon and when the grasses and small trees peak through the melted snow.
